This picture book project expands the character into a short story. I focused on simple clear layouts and storytelling that was used from page to page. All illustrations were created with traditional media, keeping a warm, handmade feel throughout the book.
This story is about boy Tim. He is 6 years old and he lives with parents who argues a lot. He doesn't like to hear their argues, but he can't change them. He feels so lonely in this big city. That's why he created his own safe and magic world where he likes to travel in his mind. Every time he is upset or when his parents argues again he starts a journey to the places where he is happy.
Tim doesn’t talk much but has a rich imagination. He has dissociation and during the fights of his parents he starts to look at the floor, walls and find lines and silhouettes that reminds him some characters or familiar objects. His mind creates a safe imaginary world for him, so he can escape from all these screams of his parents. That’s how he meets a new friend and finally feels a bit of calm.
